Ingredients
- 2 lbs Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 small head cabbage, chopped
- 1 (29 oz) can tomato sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup instant rice
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Kinder’s Buttery Garlic & Herb Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- Sour cream, for serving
Method
- Heat a large Dutch oven or soup pot over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage and pour in the tomato sauce. Stir everything together until the cabbage is coated.
- Season with the garlic salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Kinder’s Buttery Garlic & Herb Seasoning, and dried dill.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir until well combined. Cover the pot and cook over medium-high heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Stir in the instant rice, cover, and cook for an additional 10 minutes, until the rice is tender.
- Give the soup one final stir, then ladle into bowls. Top each serving with a dollop of sour cream and enjoy!
Notes
One of my favourite soups. Comes out bomb every single time.
